Last night Jennifer and I played a new game with Mason that we had never played before.  It was called “memory”.  There are 72 cards with pictures and each one has a matching duplicate card.  The object is to try to find all the matching cards.  I was blown away how great Mason did.  He was way better at me at remembering where the duplicate was located.  Mason has a great memory.  As I think about my son and how well he remembers things, it makes me thing of our heavenly father and his memory.  The Bible says that when we confess our sin he casts it as far as the east is from the west.  He buries it in the depths of the sea. He remembers it no more.

This morning I was talking  with a friend who has really been going through a tough season.  He is having an identity crisis.  He continues to think his identity is who he was in his past.  But that is not how it works.  When we come to Christ we are given new identities and a new birth.  Everything that is in the past, is exactly that…history.  And history is not who you are, it’s who you were.Let me encourage you today.  When feelings of guilt begin to build in you because of your past.  Hand them over to Jesus and be reminded that He makes all things new.  With God, there are no Yesterdays! You are made new!

Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
