Christmas in June?

If you happen to be around the church today you will hear Christmas music coming from my office.  I am beginning to plan this years Christmas Celebration Services.  I have already scheduled the bands practices and am already getting really excited about the services.  They will no doubtedly be the best Christmas Services Fellowship has EVER had!

If you know of people that might be interested in auditioning before we get into the Fall please have them get in touch with me at jeff@fellowshiptoday.com before it’s too late.

One side note:  Be praying for the thirty people from Fellowship headed to RUSSIA on a mission’s trip.  God is going to use them to touch hundreds of people!

Get in shape

Well, it’s that time again.  Every year after my birthday I schedule my annual physical.  And every year I dread going and every year it’s the same thing.  Things look pretty good but you really need to lose some weight and exercise more.  And every year I think now is the time to get in shape.  So what makes today any different than the last few years?

I think the answer lies in the fact that I have more to lose now than ever before.  I now have two boys and a wonderful wife.  My motivations have changed over the years.  But I know NOW is the time.

Our spiritual life seems to be no different.  We need to be able to get check ups from a spiritual conifidant that can tell us what areas we need to work on and encourage us along the way.  If you don’t have that, let me encourage you to find someone who will tell you the truth and help you get Spiritually fit.  With the world the way it is, you have more to lose now than ever!  So let’s get in shape together!

Make us One

This morning we went to the park and all walked.  Daddy actually ran because he is now training for a 5k which is just over 3 miles.  Afterwards we went to McDonald’s  where daddy got a salad.  I am trying to lose weight and get in shape.  I even bought myself new running shoes last week which so far are pretty comfy to run in.

After McDonald’s we filled up the car at WaWa.  (If you are looking for a good price for gas the WaWa on Philadelphia Pike is at $3.99 still)  As I was putting the pump back and ready to get in the car I noticed that the vehicle next to us had a flat front tire.  I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to go help the couple out.  So I walked over to them and told them about their tire.  I told them that they could pull over to the air pump and I would pump their tire up for them.  So they did.  As I was putting the valve stem back on and rolling up the air line the lady said “God sent you to do that for us and you probably didn’t  know it.”  She went on to say that her husband has a bad heart and shouldn’t be doing anything.  I told her that I am a Christian and that I felt like the Lord prompted me to stop and help them out.  And for a moment our hearts were knitted together in unity.  It was then I heard God whisper to me “This is Evidence of me…I prompted you to do this.  They needed you.”  I needed that reminder today.

This reminds me of our One Prayer Message tomorrow.  It is entitled “Make us One”.  What happened this morning was another reminder of how much we need each other.  God wants to use you to touch someone else’s life.  And he will if you will only listen and obey.

21 But He replied to them, “My mother and My brothers are those who hear and do the word of God.”  Luke 8:21

Dad’s day

This morning at Mason’s preschool was “breakfast with dad” day. Mason has been talking about daddy going to eat muffins with him all week. So this morning we rushed out the door and off to school. Daddy sat at the little preschool table on the little pre-school chair. Gotta love it.

We ate and played together before I had to leave for the office. It was a good time and I could tell that Mason was so glad that daddy came. I love Mason and I love getting to hang out with him. Especially now that Hudson is here and Mason doesn’t get the same attention that he used to get.

It made me think of my dad and how much I love hanging out with him.  A couple weeks ago my dad and I got to go to the Nascar race in Dover which was fun although the race was boring. It’s just fun hanging with your dad. I remember going to the “Father/Son fish fry” as a young guy. I hated fish but loved spending time with my dad. I still do (hate fish and love spending time with him). I guess some things never change. Let me encourage you to spend time with your dad or with your kids. Let me also remind all of us that as much as we love spending time with our dads, our heavenly father loves it when you spend time with him.

Surviving the heat

This has been one of the best weekends/beginning to a week I have had in a long time.  Hudson is sleeping great and Mason has been a good boy for the most part.  Jennifer, Mason, Hudson and I ventured out to the pool on Saturday afternoon.  Jenn needed to get out and Mason and I just wanted to cool off at the pool.  So we packed up and went to the pool.  It was awesome.

Mason and I went to the pull this evening for a couple hours and had a lot of fun.  He loves jumping off the side of the pool.  Today was the first day that he told me not to catch him.  So I didn’t.  And thankfully his new swim-vest lifted him right back to the top. (Of course I would have grabbed him if he was in danger.)

Now, I just finished loading some pictures of Hudson and Mason up to facebook.  What a cool thing. I hope you all have a great week and keep cool.

Checking in

It’s been a while since my last post. Things have been very busy at the Ream household. Jenns mom and dad were here for a week. Then my parents flew out from Iowa and were with us the last five days or so. My dad and I went to the Dover Nascar race which was totally awesome. My cousin is a producer for the motor racing network and I got to go to the drivers meeting and hang out in the pits and garage. Way cool!

On Monday I was told of Gail Oxley’s graduation to heaven. I hurt for Joanne but know that Gail is running and dancing and worshiping Jesus. Yesterday and today has been filled with putting together Gail’s life celebration service which is this afternoon. So much to do but wanted to check in. I will try to get in a blogging routine after today. Please pray for all who are involved with today’s services and especially the entire Oxley family.
